Musk's long absence from Twitter is unusual

There is no word on whether he is observing a quiet period to appease Securities and Exchange Commission scrutiny

Musk was fined $20 million by the SEC in 2018, removed from his position as CEO of Tesla for three years

And agreed not to contest the SEC's allegations after it charged him with securities fraud.

Musk said in a tweet on Aug. 7, 2018, that he was considering taking Tesla private at $420 a share and had "funding secured"
